Writing vs Reading

Ok so I had this post going about nutrition and diet.  I thought it was going great until the next day when my perspective had changed upon reviewing it.  It seemed to be too wordy and preachy and I doubted it's relevance so I stepped away from the computer and reverted to the food network for hours until bed.  Then I got to thinking about how my previous post must of came off as pretty darn insensitive and considering it was just one of those random thoughts in the moment type of post, I am shocked at how many views it has got.  I don't know if the things I write are entertaining or the subject of scrutiny among the unknown people whom are reading them.  So before the make-believe shit hits the fan I must assure that:

Maybe I will go on to edit my diet post entitled "Noble in thought, weak in action" or maybe I will find a new voice inside my head to write from.  I write about myself and the things I learn and feel to be true, not because I think I am better than anyone or that I know everything under the sun, but because I am just a person living freely and I enjoy writing.  I found a list I had made when I was a teenager, from my entrepreneurship class, while I was cleaning out an old box.  I was surprised to see that my dreams from back then are almost the same as what they are now.  One of the 9 things that I had written down as future goals for myself was "to be a writer, not because I think I am any good at it, but because I enjoy it."

I am currently working on penning my experiences in detail before too much time passes and I start to forget.  I wear a bandage on my wrist as the writing is flaming up the old ganglion.  I am confused on what I want from this particular blog and where I want it to go, what the themes should or should not be.  I know one thing, I try not to get personal about my relationships on here, but rather I speak figuratively in life lessons and such.  I've called this an open journal at times but now I seem to be refraining from details as I know my family and some friends (unkown and known) read it.  I hope to come back to the place where I feel free enough to let my thoughts flow freely.  I want to throw all worry of repercussion out the window because when I one day in the distant future finish my real story I am going to have to get used to the idea of being an open book.
A thought, not a statement for all of mankind.
At this point, maybe I will write more about less serious topics and maybe do some posts about the movies I watch, maybe even some reviews.  Or maybe I will let go of all my inhibitions and get more real with my bad self and just write without giving a care of how it could effect the reader.  Not because I think my opinion is worth hearing in any given topic but because I enjoy writing.  That is all.  The end.

Down on the Upside

Fitting title as it is what I am listening to at the moment as I finish off my butternut squash soup with curry and ginger.  Funny, when I eat this type of mushy soup it tends to be reminiscent of baby food to me.  I am finding facebook to be intolerably boring lately; likewise I am noticing many people opting out and shutting down their accounts.  I say, power to the people, do it!  I have noticed that when I had tried to share important documentaries and articles it does not show up on the newsfeed and just gets put up on my personal wall.  It irked me because the shit people update about on that same newsfeed is so unimportant and mind-defecating, yet I cannot get across to you the most important documentary that I saw all year, Thrive.
Ah well, it is probably better anyway since I am sure most the people could not care less about their life and the quality of it and the oppressors killing your livelihood through propaganda, chem trails, flouride, and so on.  I limit what I say because believe me I would love to share all this information with folks to help make this world a better place for themselves and their children but I know most will just label me a wacko or conspiracy theorist.  It takes a bit of effort on my part to not respond to stupidity on there, trolling if you will.  Such as a post I saw about how the Sandy Hook shootings would not have happened if "God" was in the classroom.  There are serious issues involved with sandy hook, god is not one of them, god is the least of my worries.  The biggest slap in the face with regards to that shooting of innocent children was the slap in the face that every single one of you gave the 20,000 African children that die from starvation EVERY DAY when you chose to ignore that injustice by reporting only on the other.  The slap in the face you gave every parent that lost a child in the school shooting the took place in Germany, you know the one that you didn't post about on the newsfeed?  Yah that one.  And all the other horrific ordeals that go on, like in China with the female babies thrown in toilets or in the Philippines where young girls are sold off to sex traffickers by their own parents.  But those kids aren't from North America so I guess they don't mean enough to make it on your newsfeed, right?

Understand I am only trying to give perspective on the situation, not single anyone out, I understand people are at different stages in their consciousness and some just plainly don't know better and some chose not to care.  Whatever it may be, I am not trying to pass judgement but rather ask where on god's green earth did it become ok to not give a shit about a child on another Continent but so willingly oppose what is happening on yours?  I am a firm believer that ALL LIVES are worth the same no matter gender, race or constitution.
Furthermore, here I am refraining from sharing the information about how the Sandy Hook shootings is an evil ploy, along with many other of the shootings taking place so frequently in American at this time, because I know that so many have their emotions invested in this one particular shooting and I would not want to offend, heavens no.  These shooting are happening to defer you from the truth of what is happening behind the scene, the grand master plan if you will.  That plan you ask?  Well it's up to you to look for the signs and decide for yourself.  The plan could be to take the guns away from the people so that they do not revolt against their government and it's corporations.  As information is being spread so widely and so quickly there is a definite awakening happening and the wool is being lifted from the eyes of many who've been so blinded by shiny things and big screens.  1 in every 4 Americans is incarcerated in "the land of the free" and there are jails and prisons sprouting up across the states far more quickly then gardens and trees.  [Side note: Mental Health and how it is percieved and dealt with in the USA is a MAJOR factor played, but I don't feel like getting into that one right not.)

Here is a video of a man who is the supposed father of one of the "victims" of the SH shooting laughing and then doing breathing exercises (a common acting technique to get into character) before going on camera.  I cannot believe for a second that a father who just lost his daughter would be laughing and smiling a day after her massacre.  There is just no way.

One more pet peeve that I have and that confuses the shit out of me.  Why the fuck do SO MANY people take pictures of themselves in mirrors so blatantly advertising their stupid iphone.  You know that same iphone that was made in a factory in china where the workers assembling that shit are committing suicide by throwing themselves from the factory windows.  I am all for self-portraiture, but I am more for creative portraits.  The only thing worse than the stupid phone and mirror picture is the duck-face-ipad-mirror photo.  For some of these said reasons I have chose to only use that social media site to catch up with friends, read articles from the independent news sources that I like, laugh at the witty postings of some and funny e-cards of others, and of course, get updates on music.  AHHHH MUSIC!  Back to the music.

I am a big fan of Chris Cornell and it is on my bucketlist to see him live and tonight I complete that goal.  I am very very excited to see Soundgarden, in fact I even feel blessed to have this opportunity to share music in a room of strangers, rocking their hearts out.  I am probably even more excited considering I have not left the house since Sunday, that is 5 days of hermit life.  However my nails are short, but the hair oh it's getting damn long.  I guess I am gloating too much here considering it's been like -20 all week so I am sure people would kill to have not had to leave the house all week!  I am a bear.  I am hibernating.  My favourite thing of the week was the serge in numbers of how many friends who I haven't seen too frequently lately calling me up randomly just to say HI!  Wow.  I feel loved.  Once again I will say, I am truly blessed in so many ways.

Last night while tossing and turning to get to sleep I came up with my next t-shirt design, it is a rip off of a tumblr picture that K-OS posted, but also something I've been saying for fun while wearing my panda hat I boldly state:  I'M A FUCKING PANDA.  I will have a series of shirts  but this one will do the best I am sure:
I know I know, I am venting like a crazy mother fucker on here today but it feels great to get this shit out.  Tonight I get the rest out by moshing too some of the fucking best rock and roll ever made and you can bet your pretty little ass that when you see me, if ever,  I will have a cheery disposition and be full of light and love, because I let this shit out and I move on.

The Big C

In the past, when people have asked me about herbal medicines I would advise that for small every day type ailments, there is a herb to help; but if I were to get cancer, I would go to a doctor and trust in modern medicine.  I was very wrong.  In fact, from what I have discovered lately, cancer is an industry and the people who've created this industry also suppress the cure.  It is a hard pill to swallow but it is the truth.  We have all lost people in our lives from cancer, we have seen children suffer, and to think there was a way all along to keep them alive and from further suffering.  Learning this has been really hard for me to deal with, it just does not make sense.  I can't understand why people would make their brothers and sisters suffer to gain a profit.  Do not be the last to learn of this horrific ordeal against human kind.  Chose to educate yourself now so that we can all work together to fix this and put an end to the cancer industry.

"It's all about patents. If a pharmaceutical company can patent and make money from a treatment, especially one that we have to keep on using, then that's what we get, otherwise we don't even here about it... so there's a multi-trillion dollar financial incentive to suppress cures that can't be patented." (Kimberly Carter Gamble, producer, director, co-writer, Thrive)

I get weak in the knees when I consider how much money has been donated to help find the cure for cancer.  Where is this money going?  How stupid do I personally feel for every time I have donated towards cancer research.  How many people have ran in marathons to raise awareness and funds towards the cure, how will this make them feel?  It is so easy for us to hand over a cheque and think we are doing our part but that is lazy, and I am guilty of it.  The only possible thing that I think I can do to help the wrong that has been going on for so long is to share what I have learned in hopes that maybe it will help at least one other person from losing someone to the evil that is cancer, or to stop themselves from creating the cancer in themselves because they just don't know any better.  I will break down for you what I think is the most important and how to start this fight against cancer:

Number 1:  Education

More people are getting cancer then getting cured every day that we sit idly by and chose to not educate ourselves.  The cure is in education and I have set up all the websites and articles that I have found in the last few months to share with you.  You can find them all at the end of this post with a brief description on what each article/website is about.

There are subtle hints all over the place about the cure for cancer and once the seed has been planted into your own brain you will start seeing it.  For example, while watching an episode of Family Guy one evening entitled "the Old Man and the Big C" (Family Guy, Season 11 Episode 3) there was much truth said in jest.  Brian and Stewie find out that Lois' father, Carter, has the cure for cancer:

Brian: Carter, you’ve discovered the holy grail of modern medicine, why the hell would you keep it buried like this?

Carter: I’ll tell you why, because there’s far more money to be made in treating a disease than in curing it. Why cure someone of cancer in a day if we can treat them for a lifetime and bill them every step of the way?

Number 2:  Diet

Many of the foods that we are eating are poison and killing us slowly.

I will be writing in more detail all the dietary changes that I have made lately and that I am continuing to make.  I did not find it to be feasible to just change everything I eat over night, instead I have been making changes little by little so as to not shock my system and to not make life too difficult on myself by setting high standards and feeling like a failure if goals weren't met immediately.  Day by day I am learning more about the best foods to eat and where to find them.  I feel like a proper diet is the first step to obtaining the best quality of life that will keep me strong and healthy until I am old and grey.

Diet is all about prevention and if one wants to be healthy and cancer free you must start before any sign of symptoms and ailments occur.  The choice to prevent cancer starts with what you chose to eat.

Number 3:  Forget Fear

It is time to take the reigns back into your own hands.  Do not fear being in control of your own life and chose to put your livelihood in the hands of others because you feel scared.  Learn for yourself and do not be afraid to stand up and make a difference for yourself and your family.  One of the cures for cancer is cannabis oil, but as we all know, marijuana has been made illegal by the government.  Think for yourself and do not fear something just because the law labeled it a drug.  I am not advocating the use of drugs, but I am urging you to understand who the real "pusher man" is.

These two photos are to make you aware and to question what is really bad for your health and what is destroying livelihood, not to tell you to replace sleeping pills with heroin.  However, marijuana, cannabis, hemp, whatever you want to call it, is Nature and needs to stop being labeled as a drug.  It is a plant, it grows from the Earth and there are so many healing benefits that the government has scared you from learning about by simply labeling it illegal and creating propaganda against a plant that has never ever killed anyone.  Alcohol and cigarettes are totally legal and it is a known fact that they are deadly.  The government lets you have them because they are making tonnes of money from the sale of these narcotics and because it is slowly killing you, thus creating pharmaceutical customers out of you.  Cannabis is illegal because anyone can plant and grow it in their yard and thus the government cannot patent it and tax it.  It is time we stand together.  If everyone were to grow even one plant in their back yard next to the roses, what would the government do?  Arrest us all?  Not only would that help deter crime and drug dealing, but we could all take part in creating a cure for cancer along with the many other environmental benefits that hemp plants are proven to have.

Number 4:  Standing Together

I want to see cancer cured in my life time but I could be put in jail like many others if I even talk about it or try and create something like hemp oil to treat you and your loved ones.  People have got to stand up together and take a stance and take the power back.

We Don't Need No Education

While waiting for the Hobbit to begin at the theater the other night, an advertisement for a college/university came on screen.  I have been feeling a bit bombarded lately with advertisements for colleges and universities.  I cannot even fathom what an advertisement before a movie would cost?  Why the hell are school's spending money on big time advertising?  You must ask yourself, if these school's have so much extra cash floating around to spend on advertisements then why is your tuition so high?  I am now completely convinced that colleges and universities are just another corporation out to get your money and have absolutely no interest in your well-being.  If someone was truly interested in taking a course in school, they would go on their nearest computer and look up the school's in their neighbourhood or for school's that offer the courses they are interested in.  I believe that if someone really wanted to go to school they would not chose to do so because an advertisement told them to, I would hope that they would come to that decision based upon their own distinct rational thoughts and desire to gain knowledge in a specific area of study.  I cannot think of any justification for any school to pay for an advertisement on a big screen at a theater.  The only reason I can come up with is that they want people to buy into the illusion that a college will nail you a great job and a brighter future.  Nowadays, this is just not so.  I see a George Brown billboard bright and clear when I travel down the dark and gloomy industrial part of Mississauga.  This resonates with me because I am a graduate of George Brown.  The billboard states:  George Brown Gets You The Job.
I could not find the actual billboard but please accept this one instead!
I found a great little job after college.  I worked for a clothing company and prepared the pieces of clothing by serging the edges and adding notions, wrapping it up nicely to be sent off to the asian home sewers.  I also did some alterations sometimes and I inspected and pressed the clothes when they came back from the home sewer.  I made 10$ an hour, minimum wage was 9$ back then.  The Ryerson graduate who was the main alterations lady made 15$ hour, I wonder if she has even paid off her tuition fees yet?  The woman who owned the clothing store studied at George Brown but did not obtain a diploma.  So to break it down, there was a University Graduate hunched over a sewing machine all day for 15$ an hour, a college graduate hunched over a serger and a ironing board for 10$ hour (not to forget the sad reality of the woman whom were actually sewing the garments at home) and a lady who merely took a few courses owning the business that kept her going until her early retirement.  She actually ended up retiring a year after I started working there, sales were starting to get slow so she sold the building and retired off the profits.  Good for her.  My point to this is that the one person whom did not obtain any diploma was the best off out of all of us.  Jobs like those were scarce in my early twenties, but at least they existed.  Jobs as a seamstress are now endangered and on the verge of extinction.

After living on my own for a bit, I moved back home to live with my parents, it is nearing 4 years now that I have been looking for work in the field in which I have a diploma from and I graduated with top grades.  First of all, grades don't mean shit in the work force, I could just as well be one of the dimwits who asked to copy my work for all the interviewer or the employer knows.  You can assume that I do not apply for jobs, or that I am not aggressive enough, and maybe under your expectations that could be true, or maybe that is just not the case at all.  I apply to almost every job that comes up as a skilled designer and sewer, especially in the theater industry.  I thought that the entertainment industry would be the only place where jobs for people like me could exist, but those jobs are so scarce or someone already has the job, or I do not have experience on paper and I cannot get experience until I get hired and I am just lost in a sea of graduates who cannot find work.

I applied for a factory position sorting clothing in the industrial area of Mississauga, where this billboard shouts out at me so boldly that George Brown will get me the job.  A minimum wage paying factory job would not even so much as give me an interview or a call back that the position was filled.  They took my SIN number and now I am concerned that they are using it for one of their immigrant workers behind those locked doors.  I went to the factory to fill out the application, what a superb screening process by the way, one look at my white ass and they ushered me out the heavily guarded and locked doors.  Why does a recycling clothing company need to lock all the doors so no one from the public can gain access unless they invite you in?  Maybe since I have so much trouble finding work I should amuse myself and head back over there, demand the application back on the grounds they have my SIN number on file and question the locked doors?  Why not stir it up, little darling?

When I was in college I had to take a few courses that did not benefit me at all, they were fillers and mandatory in order to gain the diploma.  What is the point of paying for an education that makes you take classes that are unnecessary and do not teach you anything that is related to your desired education plan.  And of course they give you the illusion of choice, a list of all the unnecessary courses that you do not need and you get to chose one of them all on your own.  The worst part is, the teacher's know that the students do not care about the class because it was a mandatory class and therefore the teachers don't care either; as if the class was mandatory to them as well.

How does this benefit the individual?  How does this benefit society?  Perhaps the point is for it not to benefit us, then who benefits?

If the school system is corrupt how far will it go to serve it's purpose?  Now ask yourself what happens when the teachers are taught the wrong information, and they spread what they think they've learned by teaching you these falsities and then you go out in the world never having really questioned anything or anyone your entire life and thus never really truly gaining an education?

Burden of Tomorrow

I believe that we are in need of a good protest.  I see people gathering all across the world, showing camaraderie against this failing system; yet here in Canada the only people gathering to make change are those angry at losing a hockey game.  Why are we so pinned against one another, on opposite sides, passing blame and not seeing that we all come from the same place?  I would like to see and help create changes and it must start in the city I live in.

Bus prices are too high.  Really, 3 dollars wasn't enough, you had to add an additional 0.25 cents to the bill?  $3.25 is too high for a single ride.  I am more inclined to walk the 20 minutes then pay that price, yet if it were at a reasonable 2 dollars I may take the bus more frequently.  Mississauga has over 700,000 thousand residents, I have yet to see a single person stand up against the inclining transportation rates.  I bet if 5000 people, a mere fraction, got together with signs and voices, headed over to city hall and demanded for the bus fare price to go down by 25 cents, it would happen.  But we won't know that until we try.  When will the people realize that the power is not in the few people who sit in their comfy offices, but that it is in us IF we learn to come together and act in cohesion for the greater good of our livelihood.  It starts with the bus prices, one simple change, then we move on to more.

We do not need another wal-mart.  We do not need another mcdonalds.  What we need is more independently run businesses.  Tax breaks should be given to those who want to start a business from scratch; taxes must be raised on the big american giants robbing our land.  People cant start business' because they cannot afford too, the only people who can afford the space on Mississauga pavement are the business' whom are already swimming in profit.  The rich get richer and the poor get poorer because everyone (including middle and low income families, you and I) cater to big business.

It starts at home, I know this.  It starts with us but they make it pretty damn difficult when around every corner is a fast food restaurant.  The family run business' are few and far between.  But know this, they are there if you just take the time to look.  This is why I make a point to eat at independently run places.  In Mississauga those places are usually cultural masterpieces such as pho, sushi, or shwarma made with fresh ingredients (not pre-frozen and cooked off site).  It is so easy to chose this over a burger hut that is microwaving pubic hairs as a topping or a restaurant charging $20 for a plate of pasta made from a package.

One of the commercials I heard over this holiday season absolutely left me shaking my fist.  The commercial was for a gift card (in my opinion a gift card is THE most impersonal gift you can give someone, if you don't know someone well enough to pick out something special, howabout cross them off your gift list and call it a day?).  The two actors were discussing what to call the fantastically awesome remarkable piece of plastic that could be used at harvey's, montana's, boston pizza, swiss chalet, you know those restaurants that are usually all grouped together around a movie theater.  So they cleverly called it the "card of choice".  Holyfuckshitpisscrappoop!  That is not choice.  That is the exact opposite of choice.  THAT is false advertising because all those places are owned by the same corporation.  Why would you want to eat food that is pre-packaged and not freshly made with love?  Well, people in Iceland and Bolivia know better.

In Bolivia people believe that : “Fast-food represents the complete opposite of what Bolivians consider a meal should be. To be a good meal, food has to have be prepared with love, dedication, certain hygiene standards and proper cook time.”
http://www.hispanicallyspeakingnews.com/latino-daily-news/details/mcdonalds-closes-all-their-restaurants-in-bolivia/12787/

In Iceland, the last McDonalds finally shut down because after the financial crisis, instead of the government raising the people's taxes and bus fares, they taxed the business' who were importing goods outside of Iceland and the owner of the last mcd's was "bound by McDonald's requirement that it import all the goods required for its restaurants - from packaging to meat and cheeses - from Germany."
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/money/bye-bye-big-mac-iceland-closing-mcdonald-article-1.388237

Tax the companies who outsource goods and materials from other countries.  We all know the reason why companies do this, cheaper labour aka labour that does not fit with our own health and saftey regulations as well as minimum wage.  Why are people ok with the fact that it is illegal for your tiny child to not take an active role in the work force, but totally cool (and even worse, supported by your purchases) if someone else's child is forced into the workforce across the globe?  We must look at every human being as someone whom deserves quality living on the Earth that we share and if your brother or sister is not getting a chance at a quality life then you must not take that as an opportunity to better yourself, to kick them when they're down.  There is enough for everyone if only some could please stop being so greedy.

Mississauga can set an example, it has the power to do so as it is debt-free and "is placed fourth in 'large cities of the future' by financial publication fDi Magazine for North and South American cities.[4] Mississauga was also rated as Canada's 11th best city to live in terms of prosperity according to MoneySense magazine." (source)  You know what I learned today?  That Mississauga houses several major corporate headquarters for Canada such as Walmart Canada, Microsoft and General Electric.

Why the hell are the bus prices going up?  Why are people that are parked on my residential street getting tickets during the day, everyday?  The city does not need more money, they are doing fine, and if they wanted more money they could start with taxing those damn corporations who we all know, are not sharing any profit, they are hoarding it.  Why is it ok for all of those places to keep their lights on all night?  There should be an energy tax for such wasteful use of energy.  Tax the assholes keeping their lights on for no good reason, put that money into the transit system then you can stop raising the fucking prices of bus fares and property tax for the regular folk.

86% of the WORLD'S goods are consumed by North Americans.  The problem is that "they don't quite understand the consequences of their consumption".

The power lies where people spend their money.  Take the power back.  Take it back today.  Do you chose to spend the majority of your time and energy earning money so that you can buy crap that further destroys the whole world's livelihood?  Why would you rather not spend your money on trying to preserve what little we have left?  You can start by spending your hard-earned money at family-run business' when you go out for dinner.   You can decide to not buy another pair of shoes or jeans, until it is really necessary and when it is necessary support a person not a corporation.  You can shop for groceries at markets on the weekends (usually only during the summer) and actively search for an independently run grocer in your neighbourhood (AND YES!  They do exist, in my 'hood we have:  http://www.theapplemarket.ca/ )  A lot of necessary beauty products such as shampoo and soap can be found at health food stores and I am finding that they are not only better for you but are just better in general.

Your precious wal-mart is currently conquering the food system in America, receiving 1$ for every 4$ that is spent on food.  This means that wal-mart has much of the control on where the food comes from.  Please take a gander at this graph http://www.ilsr.org/infographic-walmart-food/  it explains better than I can.  The food you chose to eat has every effect on your health, do you think corporations care about your health?  If you do not yet know about GMO foods and Monsanto I suggest you learn.

Oh but it's ok, because it is JUST business, right?  How many times has someone acted in an entirely deceitful and evil way justifying it by saying, it's just business *shoulder shrug* while society continues to prove to us that business is above law, religion, health, government, and human rights.
